What is a sat?
One bitcoin is split into 100,000,000 sats, the way a dollar is split into cents. The unit is named for Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's creator.
Why use sats?
"5,000 sats" is easier to say than "0.00005 BTC." Sats also remind you that you never need to buy a whole bitcoin to take part.
